New IP Intercom Speaker Kit from FrontRow

Great news! Now schools can install an IP based intercom and paging system in every room without breaking budgets.

Our new IP Intercom Speaker Kit lets you use existing networks and FrontRow Conductor’s user-friendly and reliable experience for “orchestrating” essential communications and emergency alerts, to keep students and staff on time, informed, and safe.

Many rooms on campus don’t require the voice and media amplification or advanced control that are part of the FrontRow ezRoom solution. These rooms – teacher’s lounge, library, locker rooms and more – still need paging and intercom coverage to make sure bells, announcements and emergency alerts are heard and so that staff can communicate with administrators.

The IP Intercom Speaker Kit replaces a 2x2 ceiling tile, mounts flush in a drop ceiling grid and includes a separate microphone that provides two-way communication between the room and the front office. And because our IP Intercom Speaker Kit is POE enabled, there is no need to run AC power to the locations where these will be installed. If used in larger spaces such as libraries or locker rooms that need more coverage, up to three more speakers can be added (power supply needed).

Basics of Distributed Audio

A distributed audio system simply delivers audio to many speakers rather than to just a few. Examples would be hallways in a school, supermarket paging, health club background music, etc. These systems are commonly referred to as “constant power systems” or “70 volt systems” — even though 100V and 25V systems are distributed audio systems too.

We love interactive white boards and projectors at FrontRow — which is a good thing, since we make a living building tools to help you manage them. But as great as they are at helping you engage learners visually, IWBs and projectors are just half of the dynamic delivery duo that our lessons and presentations need for maximum learning. It's like peanut butter without the jelly. Nice, but not a sandwich.

9/3/15 3:01 PM

One of the questions we are frequently asked is how Conductor can integrate with a school's digital signage system. During an emergency you may want to display evacuation routes or instructions. Even if it's a routine announcement, wouldn't it be cool to display an image of the speaker or an "Important Announcement" sign? The options are endless.
